Celebrating turning an idea into a manuscript!
Ask any aspiring author, the first drafts are always messy and we genuinely believe they belong in the garbage. The first draft is by no means the final product. It will be shaped and refined multiple times. However, the feeling of completing a first draft is unlike any other. To go from a spark of inspiration to a finished manuscript is one heck of a journey. We’re not just dreaming about writing, we’re doing it; that calls for a celebration!
I’ve been baking as part of my celebration. While I’m happy to have a working manuscript, I am focusing on refilling my creative well for the endless amount of edits that are looming in the distance. I’ll eventually start to print it out, put it in a binder, and mark it up. The next steps are finding an editor, reaching out to critique partners, and finding beta readers. For right now though, I just want to enjoy this moment and not overwhelm myself with the next steps. I’m celebrating being done and being one step closing to my publishing goals!
With a finished manuscript, I would like to formally introduce you to the working title (pending querying and publishing routes). I also invite you to check out the work in progress tab on this page to read the book blurb and learn what this story is about! If you check out my Instagram, I have been calling this manuscript Project Evergreen for awhile now. I didn’t know what to call it until I typed “The End”. When I sat back and examined what I had wrote, it came to me. While this is not the final product and there are many more revisions to go; I am pleased to introduce to you the survival thriller that I wrote…
The Woodsman’s Game.
